Well – this got more focus than it needed. In the drawing it says that the trim line should clear the bulkhead, and in the picture of my right skin, that is done. But what bugged me, was that the line (as it is diagonal and not parallell to the bulkhead) continued and didn’t stop until a fee millimeters (about 1/8″) outside of the bulkhead. Not on the drawing though.
In the end (after reading the instructions too may times) I contacted Van’s support and got the answer that it really didn’t matter as the fuselage will cover that part later. 🙂
Oh well. Better to have checked and to understand, than having to reorder a new skin. That wouldn’t have saveed money for me. 😀
Work today? Just a complete disassmble of the tail cone, and trimming of the right skin (the left should not be trimmed as per the instructions) as depicted.
